Join in the Atlanta Apartment Association’s Food-a-Thon!

Every year, the Atlanta Apartment Association (AAA) and its members coordinate the Food-a-Thon, the annual community service project of the AAA. Participating apartment communities across the city collect food items to be donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank to help the thousands of Atlantans who find themselves in need. This year’s goal is a whopping 1.3 million pounds of food to be donated, on average about 14,000 food items or $2,800 per participating apartment community. The Food-a-Thon is the biggest contribution to the Atlanta Community Food Bank all year.

The AAA will host the annual Can Can Ball, a black-tie optional event at the downtown Atlanta Sheraton, on Friday, August 26, a fundraiser for the Food-a-Thon with music, dancing, food, and a silent auction. The drive ends on October 21 with a parade and block party for the participants.

Find the barrels designated for collecting food in participating communities, such as the Pencil Factory Flats and Shops and other Perennial Properties locations around Atlanta. Items desired include peanut butter, boxed macaroni and cheese, pasta, beans and rice, canned meat and tuna, canned soups and stews, canned fruits and vegetables, and dry cereal. Communities will additionally be collecting cash donations to the ACFB.
We hope that you can help us reach our goal!
