Fireworks, parades, races and concerts! There are so many ways to celebrate Independence Day in Atlanta. Here’s your guide to some of the best.
Peachtree Road Race – Registration has long passed, but early birds can still watch the run, which begins Saturday at 7:30am and takes participants from Lenox Square in Buckhead to Piedmont Park in Midtown.
Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks at Centennial Olympic Park – Enjoy a night of entertainment and fireworks in the heart of downtown Atlanta. Park gates open at 6pm and fireworks will start at approximately 9:40.
Fireworks at Lenox Square – Another great spot to celebrate. Enjoy musical entertainment, food and the largest fireworks display in the Southeast right in here in Buckhead. There’s also a carnival with games and rides for the kids beginning earlier at 10am.
Laser Show and Fireworks at Stone Mountain’s Fantastic Fourth Celebration – There’s plenty to do at Stone Mountain all day long, but don’t miss the Lasershow Spectacular beginning at sundown followed by a huge fireworks display.
Parade, Concert and Fireworks at Downtown Decatur – Parade happens at 6pm, concert at 7, fireworks at 9.
Braves game and fireworks at Turner Field – Watch the Braves take on the Chicago Cubs and stay after the game for fireworks. Baseball is the perfect way to celebrate the 4th!
Fireworks not for you? Treat yourself to some delicious American fare at where else but the new American Roadhouse at the Pencil Factory Flats & Shops. And if you change your mind at the last minute, you’re less than two miles from the celebration at Centennial Olympic Park.
