Celebrate Beer, Bands and Bacon this Saturday at BaconFest!

BaconFestAttention bacon lovers.  The bacon mothership has landed and there are still tickets available for you to board.  BaconFest, Atlanta’s outdoor festival to honor the 3 B’s, beer, bands and bacon, is this Saturday, March 30 at Dad’s Garage Theatre Company!

So what does one do at BaconFest you might ask.  Well, according to the event’s webpage, starting at 1:00pm and continuing until 6:00pm, attendees will enjoy four local bands, hilarious carnival games and “troughs upon troughs of cold beer and sizzlin’ bacon.”  The event is a fundraiser for Dad’s Garage Theatre Company, so even if bacon isn’t your cup of tea, you can still come and enjoy a great time.  Specifically, the improv professionals from Dad’s Garage will be hosting several ridiculous events including a drunken spelling bee and the crowning of the Bacon King and Queen that are sure to entertain bacon lovers and veggie lovers alike.

Now, for those of you who do plan to enjoy the sweet goodness that is bacon, you’ll want to save some room for the two slow smoked whole hogs that will be at the event courtesy of Bone Lick BBQ.

Corner Tavern will be there serving up candied bacon pork chili topped with bacon thyme chili peanut brittle.  Additionally, the Corner Tavern Cigarette & Candy Girls will be giving out Bacon Spankin’s.  The exact details of a Bacon Spankin’ were unclear at the time this article was written, so you’ll just have to go to BaconFest to find out what it entails.

The event officially ends at 6:00pm, but those who want to keep the party going can head over to P’cheen for the after party.

Event costs depend on how much you plan to consume.  All the details can be found here.
