This weekend in Atlanta! July 12-14

Atlanta skylineAs summer continues, so do the fun events (well, as long as we can get a day without rain, that is).  This weekend is no exception.  Take a look at some of the fun things happening around town.

Comedy all weekend long at the Village Theatre – Check out the improv shows happening Friday and Saturday – all hilarious and all $10 or less!

Atlanta Street Food Festival – Saturday, July 13, 12pm-8pm, Piedmont Park.  Attendees of the inaugural Atlanta Street Food Festival will experience Atlanta’s best food trucks while enjoying music from a variety of local bands.  The event benefits the Atlanta Community Food Bank and has already raised enough money to purchase more than $42,000 worth of groceries for needy families.   The festival is free to enter, but attendees must purchase a $10.50 ticket (discount available for 3 tickets) to be able to purchase food and drinks.  Tickets do not include food or drink, but attendees who purchase tickets in advance will receive discounted food.  Get the details and purchase tickets here

Keep Atlanta Beautiful Recycling Event – Saturday, July 13, 10am-3pm.  Recycle your electronics, styrofoam, latex paint, paper and more at the Keep Atlanta Beautiful Recycling Event this weekend.  Bring your recyclables to The Walden School in the Old Fourth Ward at 320 Irwin St.   Visit the website to see a complete list of accepted items.  When you’re done doing good for the environment, reward yourself with a cool, organic frozen yogurt from Frutella – it’s just up the street!

Atlanta BeltLine Southwest 5K – Registration has closed, but you can still go out and support the runners while you check out the progress of this stretch of the BeltLine Southwest Trail.  The race, which begins at 1200 White Street, takes runners through the historic West End and Westview neighborhoods.

Escape the heat at Midtown Bowl!  Even with all this rain, it’s still pretty warm out there.  Beat the heat and enjoy the cool AC, cold beer, and good food while you strike down the pins at Midtown Bowl.  Open 9am-3pm daily.

Sidewalk Sundays at P’cheen – Every Sunday, 1pm-7-pm.  Enjoy $3 shots, $3 beers, and a tasty lunch menu plus DJs Ryan Baker and Marcus Hurst.
