The Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) has provided food items and other support to our city for over 30 years. Each year, in cooperation with the Atlanta Apartment Association (AAA), apartment residents, vendors, and management companies participate in a Food-A-Thon. Last year, this effort made AAA the ACFB’s largest source of meals – over 5 million in 2012!
This year, with your help, the Atlanta Apartment Association hopes to raise even more money for the Food Bank. And helping is super easy to do! You can join a team or give directly to a team that is already established, like the Pencil Factory Hunger Fighters. You can also create your own team to fundraise. Either way, your generous donation will provide vital food assistance to the 59,000 hungry children, families, and seniors the Food Bank helps feed each week.
If you prefer to support the cause via a black tie evening of partying, check out the Can Can Ball happening Friday, August 23 at 8:00pm at the Sheraton Atlanta Downtown. Your $75 ticket will go to support the Atlanta Community Food Bank, and in return, you’ll experience a fantastic night of dancing, food, drinks, and a great silent auction. You can also purchase a $125 ticket which includes a private champagne toast.
Finally, if you would rather donate your time than your money, know that the ACFB is always looking for volunteers to support their daily operations and special events. Visit their website to review the current projects and sign up to lend a hand.
However you choose to give, you’ll feel great knowing you helped support a fantastic cause that makes a huge difference in the lives of thousands of Atlantans.
