Does your kid think he or she is the funniest person around? Constantly cracking jokes or performing to make others laugh? While we’re sure that might get old sometimes, perhaps it’s a sign that your kid has some real talent! At the very least, it’s likely that your little comedian might enjoy learning how to make the most of this gift at The Village Theatre Summer Comedy Camp!
We know improv classes foster confidence and creativity for adults – and the same is true for kids. So in addition to being a super cool way to meet new friends and have fun, campers will learn skills that will help them in real-life situations involving public speaking and group interactions.
Here are the details.
Camp is spit across 2 age groups to provide age-appropriate programming.
- The Youth Camp for kids 8-12 takes place June 9-13.
- The Young Adult Camp for teens 13-17 takes place June 23-27.
Camp begins at 9am and runs until 3pm. Family and friends are invited to the graduation show on the Saturday following each week at 1:00pm.
Both camps cost $250 per camper and are limited to 20 campers each week. Tuition includes 2 free tickets to the graduation show. Additional tickets cost $8 per person.
All instructors and counselors have more than 7 years of experience teaching improv and mentoring actors.
Comedy classes aren’t just for kids!
That’s right, folks. The Village Theatre offers 5 levels of adult improv comedy training – and the next Level 1 Adult improv class begins June 16! This class meets Monday nights from 7:30-9:30 for 8 weeks and teaches participants about the fundamentals of improv including warm up, trust, the principles of agreement, and group mind. The class ends with a graduation show August 21 at 8:30.
The 8-week class costs $200 and is limited to 12 students. Sign up now!
