Hey Atlanta! It’s time to celebrate dear old dad!
We think you should try something new this year – (hint – he does not want another tie).
Here are some fun ideas to get you thinking about the best way to show Dad how much he means to you.
Bring him to an impov show at the Village Theater downtown!
- Friday night June 13, catch Jon Carr from Dad’s Garage as Armando at 8:30! The Level 5 improv class graduates will open the show.
- Saturday night, June 14, bring dad to watch improv comedians compete during Improv A-Hole at 8:30.
Both shows are just $10!
Saturday, June 14, is the Atlanta BeltLine Bicycle Tour! If you miss online registration (which closes at noon on Friday) you can still come to watch! We recommend grabbing a spot along N. Highland Ave. near Barcelona Wine Bar, Inman Perk Coffee, and Parish Foods and Goods where you can grab a coffee, Bloody Mary, or a full meal while you watch the bikers go by between 9:00am and 12:00pm. When the ride is over, it’s just a short walk to the post-ride festivities at Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark!
Some dads just want to grab a burger and spend time with the family.
Parish Foods & Goods in Inman Park gets this, but is keeping things interesting by adding a competitive element. On Sunday, June 15, between 5:30 and 9:00 p.m., it’s “Dad, we dare ya” at PARISH! Chef Zeb Stevenson will offer a monster burger discount for any dad who can finish the fully loaded, local, grass fed, beef burger with all the toppings including a sunny-side up farm egg, 3 fried green tomato slices, Farmer Greg’s bacon, Tucker Farms lettuce, house-made b&b pickles, and Sweetgrass cheese all between a H&F Bread Co. bun. Pair the $18 Father’s Day special burger with any 32 oz. draft for $7 more.
If you can finish the whole burger, Parish will split the cost with you! Reserve your burger today. Call 404.681.4434.
Does your dad love to shop? Bring him downtown to check out the newly-opened Downtown Pop-Up shops along Auburn Ave. and the new streetcar route! The shops just opened June 7 and sell a variety of unique items including home décor, locally-made goods, local honey, Judaica, and specialty socks! Get more info here. Once you work up an appetite, head over to Bada Bing’s Sports Bar on Decatur St. to get dad a burger for dinner!
