Tis’ the Season in Atlanta!


If you haven’t felt like the holidays are approaching from the recent cold front that has hit, don’t worry!  The city will soon undergo a transformation with twinkling lights, decorated evergreens, and the signature festive music of the approaching holiday season.  It’s amazing how as the weeks get closer to the holidays, the more you long for that connection with family and friends and you become reminiscent of childhood memories.  If you need more to get into the holiday spirit Centennial Olympic Park will be the perfect place for you.  Centennial Olympic Park’s Annual Holiday in Lights is an Atlanta tradition.  The Park transforms into a winter wonderland with thousands of lights that make up the sparkling display from November 22nd to January 19th.  Even better then glorifying in this spectacle of holiday lights is the Centennial Olympic Park’s Ice Rink.  Now, whether you’re an amateur ice skater or the next Nancy Kerrigan, ice skating in the park is nothing short of an amazing time.  Should you decide ice skating is not for you, enjoy those who are ice skating while indulging in popcorn, funnel cakes or a nice cup of hot chocolate.  The Centennial Olympic Park Ice Rink runs at the same time as the Annual Holiday in Lights, November 22nd to January 19th.  Admission is $12.00 per person for a 90-minute session including skate rental.Military, student and group discounts are available.  For hours of operation, please visit: http://www.centennialpark.com/index.php/plan-your-visit/event-calendar/winter-events/ice-rink.

For those running enthusiasts, there is a holiday 5k just for you!  On Saturday, December 13th, 2014, be part of the largest holiday 5K race series aimed to fight arthritis! Chosen as one of the Most Incredible Themed Races, Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis is a fun and festive way to kick off your holidays by helping others! Wear a holiday themed costume. Tie jingle bells to your shoelaces. Raise funds to help find a cure for arthritis, the nation’s leading cause of disability.
