Third Annual Atlanta Ice Cream Festival – Saturday, July 27, 11:00am-6:00pm, Piedmont Park. Enjoy everybody’s favorite cool treat while learning about health and fitness. That’s right – ice cream and fitness at the same event! Attendees will also enjoy a variety of entertainment including music, exercise demonstrations, an ice cream eating competition, and a kids’ comedy corner. The event is free and open to the public. Atlanta Street Food Festival – Saturday, July 13, 12pm-8pm, Piedmont Park. Attendees of the inaugural Atlanta Street Food Festival will experience Atlanta’s best food trucks while enjoying music from a variety of local bands. The event benefits the Atlanta Community Food Bank and has already raised enough money to purchase more than $42,000 worth of groceries for needy families. The festival is free to enter, but attendees must purchase a $10.50 ticket (discount available for 3 tickets) to be able to purchase food and drinks. In my book, there can never be too many festivals in Atlanta. So I was thrilled to see the info about a new one – the First Annual Old Fourth Ward Park Arts Festival happening, you guessed it, at the beautiful, new Historic Old Fourth Ward Park.
Here are the details. The two-day festival, happening Saturday and Sunday, June 29 and 30, includes something for everyone – unique local art, a children’s play area, food, beer and wine, and live music. Art is the primary focus of the festival, which will feature almost 200 painters, photographers, sculptors, glass blowers, and jewelers. Attendees can enjoy musical entertainment both days from Neil Cribbs, Russell McLaughlin, Radio Birds and more. Atlanta Summer Beer Fest is coming back to the Masquerade Music Park for the fourth straight year this Saturday, June 22, from 4-9pm. Attendees can experience over 150 beers including SweetWater, Terrapin, and Red Hare while enjoying music on two stages. Tickets are $40 in advance, $48 day of (if available) and include a souvenir cup, entertainment and beer samples. Food from a variety of vendors is available, but not included in the ticket price.
