The Old Fourth Ward pioneers who recently brought Atlanta Bone Lick Barbecue and Edgewood Speakeasy are now laser-focused on their eight-year-old first child, P’cheen.

Spring weekend fun in Atlanta

You did it!  You made it to Friday!   Take a look at the fun stuff happening this weekend and get out there and celebrate!

Village TheatreTonight!  Mara Davis is Armando tonight at the Village Theatre!   The Atlanta radio legend will tell real stories from her life to inspire the scenes the improvisers create.  8:30pm, $10.  Grab dinner before the show at Caramba Café, The Drafting Table or the new Chow Bing healthy Chinese restaurant.  Parking is FREE and the restaurants and Village Theatre are all in the Pencil Factory complex so you can walk to the show after you eat!

Big weekend at The Village Theatre!!!

Cross your fingers for sun, but fear not if it rains.   There’s plenty to do this weekend, April 26-28, no matter what.

Inman Park FestivalInman Park Festival – For many, it’s the granddaddy of Atlanta festivals.  And I can’t argue with that – it’s a great one.  Artist market, parade, festival food, kids’ zone, tour of homes, and so much more in one of Atlanta’s oldest and most beautiful intown neighborhoods.  Friday through Sunday.  If the weather looks ok even for just a short period of time, we highly encourage you to check it out.

Sample wines from around the world at Barcelona Uncorked!

WineIn October of last year, I introduced you to Gretchen Thomas, Wine and Spirits Director (what a title, right?) at Barcelona Wine Bar and Restaurant.  Gretchen travels the world to select wines and beers for Barcelona Wine Bar and answered several of my novice wine questions during our conversation.   She also let me know that she would be coming back to Atlanta in 2013 to host a wine class and tasting called “Barcelona Uncorked.”  Well, that time is now.  The event takes place Tuesday, February 5 at 7:00pm and is not to be missed.  Continue reading

P’cheen and Corner Tavern announce industry night specials!

Many of us consider Friday and Saturday nights as our time to unwind from a long work week, kick back, have a nice dinner, or grab a few beers.  But if you’re the restaurant worker cooking that nice dinner or the bartender preparing that tasty cocktail, Friday and Saturday nights are for working!  So when are these hard-working hospitality employees supposed to relax?  Behold, industry nights!   Typically held on Sunday and Monday nights, when the restaurant and bar business takes it easy, industry nights are when the other half celebrates the weekend.
