Summer events aplenty in Atlanta

Atlanta summers bring with them a slew of great events.   Take a look at some of the fun things happening over the next couple of weeks and get out there!

Atlanta Ice Cream FestivalThird Annual Atlanta Ice Cream Festival – Saturday, July 27, 11:00am-6:00pm, Piedmont Park.   Enjoy everybody’s favorite cool treat while learning about health and fitness.   That’s right – ice cream and fitness at the same event!  Attendees will also enjoy a variety of entertainment including music, exercise demonstrations, an ice cream eating competition, and a kids’ comedy corner.  The event is free and open to the public. Weekend happenings June 21-23

Dino Hassan is Armando at the Village Theatre tonight, June 21, at 8:30pm!  The Egyptian bred, southern born child of the 80s returns to the Village Theatre to inspire another hilarious night of improv.

Caren West PR Restaurant Week starts Saturday, June 22!  Enjoy 3-course lunch and dinner deals from $15-$35 at her restaurant clients including The Drafting Table, Bone Lick BBQ, P’cheen International Bistro & Pub, and 16 other dining spots through June 29.

Atlanta Summer Beer FestAtlanta Summer Beer Fest is coming back to the Masquerade Music Park for the fourth straight year this Saturday, June 22, from 4-9pm.   Attendees can experience over 150 beers including SweetWater, Terrapin, and Red Hare while enjoying music on two stages.  Tickets are $40 in advance, $48 day of (if available) and include a souvenir cup, entertainment and beer samples.  Food from a variety of vendors is available, but not included in the ticket price.   If you want to fuel up before heading to the Fest, grab a sandwich right down the street at Parish Foods & Goods while you check out the Beltline! It’s the weekend already, Atlanta!

They say the only thing better than a long weekend is a short week.   Hard to believe another weekend is already upon us, but I’m certainly not going to argue it!  Take a look at some of the fun events that are just around the corner.

Village TheatreVillage Theatre Level 1 Graduate Show and Armando Friday, May 31, 8:30pm, $10.  If you’ve been on the fence about signing up for one of the Village Theatre’s improv classes, this is a great way to see the program in action.  After watching the students perform, you can stay and watch the main cast perform in the Armando show – and sign up for the July Level  1 improv class if you’ve got the guts to do it!   Get your tickets here.

Yacht Rock Revue Performing Prince’s Purple Rain – Friday, May 31, 7:00 – Legacy Fountain in Piedmont Park.  Hear Purple Rain in its entirety outside at our beautiful Piedmont Park!   General admission tickets are $20.  VIP tickets include seating and cost $50.  Proceeds benefit the Piedmont Park Conservancy Green Market.  Continue reading

Spring weekend fun in Atlanta

You did it!  You made it to Friday!   Take a look at the fun stuff happening this weekend and get out there and celebrate!

Village TheatreTonight!  Mara Davis is Armando tonight at the Village Theatre!   The Atlanta radio legend will tell real stories from her life to inspire the scenes the improvisers create.  8:30pm, $10.  Grab dinner before the show at Caramba Café, The Drafting Table or the new Chow Bing healthy Chinese restaurant.  Parking is FREE and the restaurants and Village Theatre are all in the Pencil Factory complex so you can walk to the show after you eat!
